Two years ago I broke my knee cap and needed extensive surgery to repair. Following surgery, my recovery and physical therapy was 12 months and in that time I have used a lot of different knee braces. I still need a brace support for high impact exercise such as running, jumping, etc. In my experience with various braces, this one is a great brace. I have come to have a love/hate relationship with braces that have Velcro straps. I love that I can customize tightness and support but with most braces there is only a small area to Velcro straps and if you need them tighter than that there is extra strap spilling over and they tend to bend up, snag on your clothes etc. (See my video for examples of comparing braces.) Not a problem with this one. This brace is fantastic because you get the ability to customize support with the straps without the annoying features of most Velcro braces. The entire front side of the brace is the soft side of Velcro so you can stick your straps anywhere- including on top of other straps. The straps also seem durable and stick well without the peel back.

This brace offers flexibility for bend, while supporting sufficiently. I also like the sleeve feature that you can step into the brace and you have material in between your leg and the straps wrapping around the back. I typically don’t like the straps right up against my skin. The material is pretty silky- it works great for me when it is right up against my skin and I am hot and sweaty during a workout but I have found it to be a bit slick when I am wearing it over my workout pants (if they are a slick material also, rather than cotton or something) and the brace can shift. When I wear it over pants like that, I simply don’t use the sleeve option and put it straight on without stepping into it. (I demonstrate this in my video) Problem solved and the brace stays in place well. I don’t experience shifting when I wearing it directly on my skin. I have a number of issues with my right leg that stem all the way to childhood when I broke my tibia. I am in the military and am constantly doing physical training. Therefore, I am constantly putting stress on my knees and especially on my right leg. I have Iliotibial band syndrome which is a fancy way of saying chronic inflammation of my IT bands. I have tried a couple different knee braces and compression sleeves for my leg. The Exous Bodygear I especially like because it is made of a thick material and has four adjustable straps, rather than the standard two. These four straps provide a stellar amount of support and stability. There is a lumbar spine that adds extra support and stability to the brace when it is worn. It also has an opening for your knee cap. This is an awesome design feature because it helps with the brace staying in place and improving the stability of your patella.

I have worn this at night and it acts like a heating pad. The material it is made out of and the way it is designed builds heat after awhile. A bit hard to explain without having felt it yourself. Think of warmth compression.

The inside of the brace has an elastic band that you can slip your leg through. I like this because to me, it makes it easier to place the brace. Though if you have larger legs, you do not have to use this elastic band and it does not in anyway take away from the compression and support that the brace gives.

Though it is made of a thicker and more durable material, it is really flexible due to the adjustable straps as you can place them higher or lower as needed. I have done multiple workouts with the brace on and have had no trouble doing squats or sit ups nor issues while running. It has actually helped tremendously when I run, because post run I am not in pain and my IT band does not feel taunt. Though that area does become quite sweaty, it is only natural.

I am very pleased with this product and will continue to use it on a daily basis. I received this product at a promotional price in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.

I’ve never had much faith in reviews by people who received a product for free or at a discount. I realize that some companies may use that as a way to build up a reputation for their product, but, as a consumer, I have concerns about the degree to which those views may be biased. I was going to skip this product for that reason.

Then I saw a YouTube clip on the device. The four straps and the amount of leg that would be covered looked to me like a very logical way to create a knee brace, so I decided to give it a try.

For about six weeks I had been having pain on the inside of my right leg, just below the knee. With rest, twice I was able to reduce some of the pain, only to have it return with full force due to the amount of walking and stair climbing I have to do at work. I had already tried other braces. Some of them helped but none provided the stabilization that I needed to allow my knee to get some rest as I walked. I just couldn’t get over the last hump to where I was pain free.

When this brace arrived, I had the pain subsiding for the third time and suspected that I would get close again but not be able to eliminate the pain entirely. After wearing the brace for less than a week, the pain was completely gone. What seemed to make the difference was the extra stabilization provided by the two smaller straps that can be placed just above and below the knee and the amount of coverage provided by the brace above and below those two straps.

Fortunately, I had a problem that did not require a physician. In order to heal, my knee needed less stress during the times that I had to walk or climb stairs, and that was provided by this product. I did not receive this product at a discount. I paid full price for it. My only regret is the money that I spent on the other braces that I tried before I found this one.
