I have lower back pain that can get really intense and I am suffering from this from couple of weeks. Hence a lot of times I need a massage to help loosen up the muscles and most of the time I go to either massage parlor or to a nearby mall to use the electric massager chair. This is my first massage pillow and I am really happy with it. This is perfect for anyone who is sitting down ALL day long. You can easily position the pillow anywhere on your back or neck while sitting in a chair or lying on a couch or bed.
Based on the need you can increase or decrease the intensity of the massage. Pillow has a stretchable strap which is used to tie it up with your chair or car seat. This massager comes with both an AC and DC plug and they can be used interchanged based on the needs. It lights up red in color and the massage balls inside the pillow starts moving in a circular motion. It takes some time to start heating up. Once it is heated it feels great on the back.

Things which I liked:

Things which I didn’t like:
–Doesn’t has adjustable heat options

The Gideon Shiatsu Deep Kneading Massage Pillow arrived quickly and in perfect condition. I received this Shiatsu Massage Pillow at a reduced price so that I could evaluate it and provide an honest and unbiased review to help other buyers make informed decisions. Here is what I found……

The massager comes with both an AC and DC plug that is interchangeable. I have not used it on DC power yet, so this review is based on using it plugged into AC power. The back of the unit has an elastic strap that you can pull over the back of your chair for easy positioning. The rotating “massagers” are a hard plastic so I’m not sure I’d call this a pillow. It’s pretty aggressive. That being said, I think it’s a good thing. The pressure that the actual massage devices can apply is pretty strong. I have lower back issues and I set this massage pillow on my chair at work and let it run. The pressure can be adjusted by basically moving back into it a little harder or softer. The heat is noticeable and helpful but hasn’t got anywhere near a point that it would burn me as others have mentioned. I have not used it on bare skin, so I do have a buffer between the heat and my body. I also have degenerative disks in my neck and I can use this at home buy laying on my back and putting this under my neck as I watch TV in the evenings. It is fairly quiet while it’s running. It doesn’t make enough noise for anyone to even know I’m using it at work and when I’m watching TV at home with it under my neck, I just have to turn the TV up a couple notches to hear it. Something to consider, is that even though this feels so good at the time, you should try to control yourself because you will pay for it the next day. This little baby can put a hurtin on you if you go too long. I think the manipulation this device is capable of and pain you feel the next day tells you how good it is. Kinda like the day after a good deep tissue massage. All in all, I found that the Gideon Shiatsu Deep Kneading Massage Pillow an awesome device. I will buy another so I don’t have to pack this back and forth from work to home. Plus my wife likes it too so it’ll keep one in the house for her. At a third of the price of a regular massage, I recommend this massager that you can use whenever you like!

I just want to say, this is an amazing product. As I am getting older, I am experiencing major lower back and neck pains. For a long time, I have experienced back pain that made it hard to sit up and neck pain that gave me migraines for days at a time. I bought this product because I was fed up with hurting and read some of the reviews, which sounded positive overall. I use this product on a regular basis and my back pain has gone away, and so has my neck pains and headaches that came with it. I use it mostly for my lower back and neck, but you can move it around to other spots too.

If I work out, I still experience some back pain afterwards, but I am recovering a lot quicker and using it right afterwards helps tremendously. I had no pain the next day like I have in the past. What has also helped my neck pain was one of those U-shaped pillows (which I started right around the same time) because they completely support the next when sleeping. I sleep on my side at night with it and don’t wake up with pain. I forgot to use it the other night and woke up with pain, but used this device to massage it away and it relieved it completed (with no headache thank goodness).

The heat feature works really nicely. It heats up slowly and gets quite warm. I have seen some reviews complaining about it getting too hot, but if it gets uncomfortable, then you can turn off the heat (it has 2 settings). It is not meant to use next to bare skin. Don’t go to sleep using this device because you are likely to get burnt from overexposure, and it’s not meant for sleeping with. Also, the more weight you put on it, the harder the massage, so don’t lean on it too much (or too little).

Now, I have only used the product for a week, so I can’t talk to its durability, but it works really well. I was looking at a similar product from Brookstone and it was almost $100, so this is very reasonably priced. I will probably update this in a month or two, to let you know how durable this is.

Overall, while I can’t promise this will cure you of back or neck pains, this sure has helped me a ton. If you are on your last leg, like I was, I would give it a shot.

Aside, I did NOT receive this product free of charge like a lot of reviews seem to be these days. I am a happily paying customer and am happy to write this review because I hope this will relieve others of the same terrible pain that I was feeling. I also have no association with the sellers, other than purchasing this product from them.
