There seems to be very little scientific evidence that glucosamine actually works, but I decided to give it a try after a visit to an osteopath for stiff joints. If it worked it would save the need for another visit. That was two years ago and there has been no deterioration since. Last month I went away for a long weekend and by the Monday found walking difficult, I had forgotten to pack the tablets. They certainly work for me.
