Arrived on time, well packaged, and as scheduled the day after ordering which was probably late afternoon/early evening so well done Amazon!

Pros
Natural ingredients which opens up usage to all including vegetarians which isn’t always the case

Now let’s look at the claims and performance…
• Control thiamine deficiency symptoms such as fatigue, irritability, and abdominal pain.
I guess we’re all susceptible at times to each of these?
Since starting my course of tablets I can honestly say that I’ve not been affected by them
A caveat is that I do suffer a little from SAD seasonal affective disorder but not to a great degree so maybe it’s helping? Should take one before my football team pays (no names…)

• Relieve gastrointestinal discomfort – nausea, vomiting, and severe abdominal pain
Delighted to say not affected by any which is quite typical in truth
I do suffer from indigestion but haven’t noticed much of a need to take medication recently; perhaps the tablets have helped?

I’ve had to purchase a variety of supplements over the course of the past few months for not only myself but also the rest of the family. I normally do all our supplement shopping from the local health shop but it does start to get pretty expensive after a while, hence I decided to do a hunt around on Amazon and see if I could get identical products at a lower price (not that I’m a cheapskate or anything but when you’re buying for yourself for arthritis and bone strength, plus 3 other adults for things such as pregnancy, blood pressure, cholesterol, depression etc and the list goes on, you do find yourself spending a bank loans worth most months). So, why the Thiamine? My daughter in law is pregnant, her energy levels are through the floor and she spends a LOT of time in the bathroom feeling quite sick, so her midwife suggested taking a vitamin B1 supplement in the form of thiamine (given that she’s vegetarian, she tends to miss out a lot on some vitamins by not eating meat so supplements are often needed o give her a boost). Because of that advice, she’s been taking similar supplements to the Pure Science Thiamine from our local health shop for a good few weeks now. When I saw these ones, I decided to get them for the sheer fact that they’re cheaper than the ones she normally gets and, looking at the ingredients, they’re pretty similar to what her usual ones contain (not exactly but near enough).

Now, these aren’t the first supplements we’ve purchased and reviewed in the past week as we’ve been trying to match up all the ones the family usually take with slightly less expensive ones and I’m finding myself saying the same thing over and over again in each review i.e. that reviewing the product is actually quite hard in the respect of whether the brand works, simply because you do need to take these for a length of time before you start to feel any benefit from them, they are NOT an overnight cure so as far as effectiveness goes, so all I can say on that score is that she’s been using these ones for a few days now and she says they appear no different to the ones she normally takes, she doesn’t feel any worse or any better for the change of brand and she’s satisfied that the new tablets are working as well as her usual branded ones. To me, that’s a positive because although the new ones won’t be having a huge effect yet, if they weren’t doing anything at all, she’d be stumbling round the house like a zombie after a few days, hence we have to assume they’re working as well as the previous ones did.

On to the things I can talk about with certainty…. Delivery was far quicker than I expected and the tablets arrived the next day, in it’s own bottle with a security seal (ensuring that no-one has tampered with the product) and placed within one of the typical Amazon postage sleeves, therefore reducing the risk of damage to the parcel while in transit and also being recyclable which is always a bonus point in my eyes. The bottle itself is a typically average size for supplements (they do all seem to come in the same sized bottle no matter where you buy them from) and the label on the bottle clearly shows where they were manufactured, provides directions for use and the supplement ingredients per serving as well as a caution for people who should consult their GP before taking the supplement.

On to actually using the product. The tablets themselves aren’t difficult to swallow and don’t leave a dreadful aftertaste in your mouth as some can. Another thing that I’m finding myself repeating over and over again in these supplement reviews is that I was surprised to find there isn’t any reference to sizing on the label? The majority of vitamins and supplements that we usually purchase tend to have an outline picture of the size of the tablet or capsule so you’re aware of just how big/small they are before purchase but not so the ones that are manufactured in the US. For my daughter in law that’s not a huge issue as swallowing large tablets has never been particularly difficult for her but if it were for me, I’d rather know in advance as I’m one of those people that struggle with tablets if they’re the size of horse pills LOL, so I think consideration to showing the size of the tablets on the label could be an idea for the manufacturer to take on board should they ever decide to revamp their packaging.

So, on to the functionality of the tablets. I can honestly say that with regular use, I truly believe that her usual thiamine supplements has made a huge difference to her symptoms hence, for her, the usual branded supplement that we get works really well. As for the Pure Science brand, that’s a little more tricky to judge at this stage as we don’t feel she’s been taking the capsules long enough yet to be able to say for certain if they’re working as…

I’ve been taken this for about a week, and have noticed my focus is better. The instructions on the container is very simple to follow, and the container came sealed. The tablets are easy to swallow, and with 50 in the container it will last a good while as you only take 1 a day.
