Very effective for IBS if taken 20 minutes before a meal – although i found enteric coated peppermint oil capsules just as effective and they are much cheaper alternative. Beware of being prescribed low grade equivalents to Colofac and Culpermin on the NHS – I tried them and they did NOT work !

I have been suffering with IBS bought on by stress for 8 months & I now seem to have an intolerance to peas,beans & chickpeas which causes a lot of pain in the colon. Since taking “Colpermin” along with being careful about what I eat I can achieve days of being relatively pain free, they do seem to help, I take 1 before breakfast & 1 before my evening meal. Only take with cold water because if you take them with a hot drink the coating will dissolve too early into your stomach & may cause burning & indigestion.
