Hello, and thanks for reading my review of the Cushina Memory Foam Seat Cushion with Cutaway Comfort Section.

At the time of writing this item cost £32.95

The Cushion was supplied in a plastic zippered carrying bag with a card insert with branding and a list of features. It is a product of China.

The Cushion is made of a black mesh fabric with a lighter edging made of a similar material with a slightly larger mesh structure.
The base is also black material with offset rows of gel nodules to reduce slip. It is nicely shaped and well machined with a zip all round the base for removing the cover for washing. It certainly looks a quality item.

On unzipping you can see the moulded memory foam cushion there is no inner liner, but this would be visible through the mesh and is not necessary.

A barcode paper label on the bag states “no flattening” and the card insert claims 100% grade A Memory Foam. I can test flattening but I am not sure what grade A means!!
Memory Foam has two properties which define it, Density and Rebound which are given values but again not very meaningful for the average buyer.

What I can tell straight away is that this Cushion is firm to the touch and does not compress easily. I have another similar Cushion from a different manufacturer which feels much softer and it flattens when I sit on it. I have tried to illustrate this in my photos and placing my old cushion under this new one and sitting on them together you can see the difference!!

Placed on an office chair the Cushina fits well and is firm but very comfortable to sit on. It does not flatten so the manufacturers claim is correct. It provides plenty of support and makes my other cushion feel distinctly inferior. The slightly raised seating position may also be an advantage.

After a couple of days use I am very pleased with this cushion and it definitely helps reduce the aches and pains associated with poor seating and protects the base of your spine. I am of medium build just under 13stone and it fits me perfectly. I would say it is best for a person of average build.

To summarise, a well made quality cushion that is superior to other types I have tried. Comfortable to sit on and easily washable. Definitely worth trying if you are unhappy with your current seat.

• Shape / Design – I personally found it very comfortable and excellent designed product. Due to its shape, it can fit to men and women
• Protection – Due to its extra comfortable design, it can easily absorb the weight of human body and can protect our skin and internal skin, veins arteries, nerves etc from any possible trauma from long and uncomfortable sitting
• Durability – We use many cushioned product from car seat to home sofa and office chair bed pillow, I mainly concern is, its durability. I am very satisfied with quality of this product 5/5 stars
• Non-slippery – bottom part this cushion has embedded small plastic studs to make the surface none slippery. I can easily it in my leather car eat
• Washable – its main cover is removable and washable and it can easily be zipped back in minutes
• It does NOT make any (embarrassing) sound while breathing out or in

Won’t Slip & Slide, Good Quality Memory Foam, Removable Cover, 23 Aug. 2016

With the amount of time that I spend sat at my laptop now I always find myself ending up with neck and back ache and have to keep getting up and stretching. When I saw the promotion for this Cushina® Memory Foam Cushion I decided to give it a try.

My cushion arrived wrapped in cellophane with a little retail label describing the benefits and makeup of the cushion. First impressions looked great and I thought it looked very good quality. However my views have changed after using this for nearly two weeks. The cushion is covered in a breathable mesh fabric and not velour as described in the product description which I find quite scratchy against bare legs and I can’t sit on it for long as I feel the material thro my clothes. The cover can be removed to wash it as it features a zip on the underside.

Once the cover is removed the memory foam interior is very soft and squishy and does return to original shape. After sitting on the cushion for about an hour I have to take it off my chair and sit without it. It adds quite a bit of height when on a firm office or dining table chair which then makes it even worse to work at my laptop. I did try it on my settee but that was a pointless exercise. When sat on it, it does make you want to sit up straight as it is uncomfortable if you try and slouch down so in one way that is a benefit.

I really do think this is one product that is going to be down to trial and error for people. For me it’s half and half, I do like it and can see the benefits and what this cushion is aiming to do, but it is just not made to sit on for hours on end. One thing that I really liked about this cushion is the non slip base; it has little rubber spots stuck to the underside to hold it in place against a normal chair. Great for people who get up and down a lot to know your cushion isn’t going to slide all over the place. Under the product description it says that it comes in an easy to carry bag for portability, I think with the big promotion that Cushina did they cut down on costs and didn’t include the bag.

I would have to give this a tentative 4 star as it does have great potential and I can see what it is aiming to do. If the material were a bit more comfortable and softer I might be able to sit on it for longer.
